Recuperate

Haven't been doing much lately.
My birthday passed, and it was the best one yet. The exams are gone too, I've haven't been doing much. Collecting my black and white films after 3 whole months tomorrow and constantly spending the money collected over the lunar new year. Gave school a miss on Friday because secondary 3 has finally take a toll on my life.

I need to recuperate and get a kick of adrenaline

2013?

Hello February (and 2013),

Meanwhile, it has been quite a toughie in school trying to catch up most of the assignments and new subjects in 2013. But that aside, here's how i concluded 2012.

Having dinner at coastal settlements with the same bunch of lovely girls, spending the night over at A's house to help with her webstore, food-shopping all around town and our usual dates. (2 more weeks before A goes back to Aussie for university and Y has been pretty caught up with school lately)

Then over the first month of 2013,

I was a little hesitant to transit over to a new year because that will mean moving on to a foreign class, new friends, and new experiences. Change scares me, quite a bit. I was afraid that i would not be able to make friends in a foreign class and i'll be falling behind everyone else in my studies. Thankfully, none of that happen just yet, and school has been pretty enjoyable as of now.

Earlier in the month, as part of the cohort camp, i had the opportunity to go to Pulau Ubin with my classmates for an outdoor adventure. It was a 5 days camp, which includes Kayaking in the open sea for 7 hours, trekking in the jungle for 6, swimming in a quarry in Asia (bet you didn't know that was a quarry!), pitching tents (and sharing rooms with insects) and bathing in a toilet with an ant nest. My biggest take-away from the camp was my tan lines which looks very much like skin-gloves i have on permanently, and 2 OBS camp shirt and probably all the new experiences i never thought i had to courage to attempt.

Another highlight of the month was Laneway Festival 2013! Despite not staying to watch Alt-J, Bat for Lashes, and Kimbra, and not bringing my Diana Mini, it was pretty darn good. We left early because A had some urgent things to attend to at the very last minute, and i decided to go over to C's birthday party gathering so we left at 7pm. On that note, I bumped into my English teacher in Laneway and she said, "nice shoes! and do your english homework!"
It was an outdoor festival so, after my first-degree burns under the sun in OBS, i got a little tanner over there too, damn.
Here's a snippet of how Laneway was like for me, its pretty short. Really short.

Muscle to muscle and toe to toe

The nothingness of this space over the past couple of months was very much contradictory to how my days were spent in this complete emotion turmoil for everyone (in my family). It was the most hectic 2 months of my life. I'll spare myself some dignity and not go on about all that had happened.

Within this couple of months, i believe that i've experienced and felt much more than i could ever attain in a year. The school break wasn't all that much of a bummer either, there were times i felt that it was the most exhilaration i've felt over the mere 14 years of my existence. It truly has been an overwhelming 2 months that i probably would choose not to re-live, but the rough patch isn't quite over just yet.

In the beginning month, i met up with Y for a little sleep over/slumber party which includes a chasing after a bus for a midnight movie, mini-sobfest after, browsing through the mall, midnight photos at a bridge, and swimming the day after.

About a week later, my father decided to book an impromptu trip to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Of which, i had several photos saved in my phone, but this was what happened.

Moving on, i finally had the chance to meet up with loveliest couple i've ever met and a friend we met over M's concert in August. We went to universal studios for a kick of adrenaline over the mundane school break (and to celebrate the dismissal of the secondary education for B). There we met 2 americans visitors who were adrenaline junkies, and we immediately formed the ultimate 'Revenge of the Mummy Badass Clan'. All 6 of us snuck around the staff pathways to the roller coaster and took it 9 times repeatedly due to the rain.

Then mom had an impromptu idea to travel to cebu with my extended family. So that happened.

We head over for yet another impromptu visit to Hong Kong and Macau where my cousin and i walked 250m above ground level on a plank that surrounds the macau tower. It was rather significant that i gained a lot of weight over all the excessive eating. I will be back for bungee, most definitely.

That's all for now.

rumor has it - adele (cover)

i don't know really, it's my first attempt at it and i'm hooked to the song, so here goes nothing.
